Ellie Eulalia “Shine” Bennett, 92, of Midland, GA died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Columbus Hospice House.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Rev. David Helms officiating. Interment will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at The Glade Baptist Church Cemetery in Point Peter, GA aka “The Glade”. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bennett was born March 10, 1925 in Carlton, GA daughter of the late John B. Moon and Minnie Lou Hancock Moon. She was the owner for 40 years of a Flooring Store and was a Baptist by faith.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arvey Julius Bennett.

Survivors include her children, Gene Bennett (Lynn), Darel Bennett (Bonnie) and Marsha Douglas (Taylor), brother, Richard Moon, 6 grandchildren, Jeff Bennett (Jessica), Charity Hawkins (Jeremy), Charlie Douglas (Bethany), John Bennett (Misty), Jason Bennett (Michelle) and Angela Bennett, 12 great-grandchildren, Drew Hawkins, Logan Hawkins, Kendall Hawkins, Grace Douglas, Graham Douglas, Emily Bennett, Eric Bennett, Seth Bennett, Caleb Crowe, Ryan Sameie, Kasey Stacho and Jadyn Bennett, and 2 great-great grandchildren, Carter Stacho and Trenton Crowe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Bethesda Baptist Church Food Pantry 3830 GA HWY 85 Ellerslie, GA 31807.
