Howard Earl Ballantyne, Jr.

Mr. Howard Earl Ballantyne, Jr., 86, of Dewy Rose, finished his course in faith on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta.

Mr. Ballantyne was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on May 30, 1932, son of the late Howard Earl Ballantyne, Sr. and Louise Adell Stiles. He was a graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in Industrial Arts, a retired commercial pilot, and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Survivors include his children: Howard Earl Ballantyne, III and Jennifer Louise Ballantyne Cote, both of Greenville, SC; sister, Ruth Ballantyne Thonen of Salisbury, NC; longtime companion, Gail McLanahan Matthews of Elberton; and seven grandchildren.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
