Mr. Hugh Winnifred Dickerson, 75, of Lexington Hwy., Elberton, GA passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Dickerson was born March 12, 1942 to Desmond and Phoebe Dickerson. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church, a Charter member of Faith Baptist Church, associated with Love Unlimited Christian Bookstore, member of the Elbert County Senior Center, member of the Elbert County Republican Party, and a member of the Bojangles Romeo Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out).

Hugh Attended the National Quartet Convention in Nashville and Louisville since 1985. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict in Germany.

Survivors include his wife: Janice Jeffries Beggs Dickerson; step-son and daughter-in-law: Marshall and Sandy Beggs; grandson and grand-daughter-in-law: Jason and Claire Beggs; sister: Brenda Dove; brother and sister-in-law: Norris and Nancy Gail Dickerson; special sisters and brothers-in-law: Pat and David Snider; Cathy and Larry Moore; Dale and Sarah Jeffries; Gatton and Karen Jeffries; Doug and Bonni Jeffries; Steve Jeffries; Mike and Karen Jeffries; Tim and Kristie Jeffries all of Shelbyville, KY and Kevin and Heather Jeffries of Indianapolis, IN; Daisey Maddox of Mounds, OK; Martha Hammond of Greer, SC; Patricia McBrayer of Carrollton, GA; Mary Ann Beggs of Elberton, GA; Jean and Kent Jewell of Lancaster, SC; Susan and Marshall Suttles of Elberton, GA and Deanna Beggs of Royston, GA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by grandchildren: Cody and Tyler Beggs.

A Coming Home funeral service will be held 2PM, Tuesday, November 21 at Falling Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Morgan and Rev. James Bannister officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday night at Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Hugh will be placed in the church to lie in state from 1-2PM just before the service.

Pallbearers will include Douglas Dickerson, Tony Causey, Tim Beggs, Ben Suttles, Rickey Oglesby and Kevin Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult 11 Sunday School Class at Falling Creek Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Building Fund of Falling Creek Baptist Church, 1020 Jack McVeigh Drive, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
