Mrs. Witcher was born in Oglethorpe County on December 17, 1927, daughter of the late Juit and Onie Caldwell Pitts. She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church and was a secretary having worked in the granite industry. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death her siblings: Floradene Hammond, Barbara Ann Shell, Ben Pitts, and Dewey Pitts.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 11AM, Thursday, April 20, at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. John Younts and Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Brantley Witcher, Mark Shell, Bruce Parham, Matt Brown, Ed Cleveland and Don Looney serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Ethan Shell and Jeff Palmer.

The family is at the residence on Ruckersville Road and will receive friends from 6-8PM Wednesday night at Berry Funeral Home. Mrs. Witcher will be placed in the church to lie in state from 10-11AM just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to make memorials in her honor to Francis Asbury United Methodist Church, 1016 Ruckersville Rd., Elberton, GA 30635.
