Lindsay T. Burden

Lindsay T. Burden, aged 91, passed away peacefully August 10, 2017 surrounded by family.

Lindsay was born March 18, 1926 in Elbert County, Georgia to Oran Strawder Burden and Sarah Wilson Burden. Lindsay was a WWII veteran who served in the Philippines and Japan, and spoke Japanese; he later went on to become a Mecklenburg County Police sergeant, and spent over 28 years on the force before his retirement. He also worked with the Police Retirees Association. He will be remembered as an adventurous, generous, and hard-working man who loved life, his family, and his cat Neko.

Lindsay was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Ina Teasley and her husband, Harlon. He is survived by his children, Pamela Henry and husband David, and Nelson Burden and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Jeffrey Henry, Nicholas Henry, Daniel Mull, Jennifer Burden Seth and husband Nick, and Robert Lindsay Burden and wife Jennifer; and great grandchildren, Makayla, Selena, Elaina and Samuel Seth, and Jeremiah, Noah, and Hunter Burden.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at Grace Life Church on Saturday, August 12 at 12:30pm; with a visitation at 11:00am. A graveside service will take place on Sunday, August 13 at Liberty Congregational Church Cemetery in Dewy Rose, Georgia at 2:00pm.
