Andrew William Ethridge

Mr. Andrew William Ethridge, 23, of Decatur, GA died Tuesday, May 12, 2015, after a four-year battle with brain cancer. He was a graduate of Brookwood High School and earned an Associate's degree from Oxford College of Emory University. At the time of his death, he was a BBA student at Emory University's Goizueta Business School. During his time at Emory, he was a Dean's List student for every semester, a Bonner Scholar, an announcer at athletic events of the Emory Eagles, and founder of the Oxford College Marketing Club. He loved to fish in streams, lakes, oceans, and especially at his beloved Fausetts Lake, where his ashes will be scattered. He was a golfer and avid fan of UGA and professional hockey. He was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where he sang in adult and youth choirs, served as a youth mentor, volunteered as an Angel Buddy for special needs children, and founded the Young Adult Sunday School Class. He is survived by his wife Kristin Fair Ethridge; parents, Glenn and Cathy Ethridge; brother, Lee Ethridge; paternal grandmother, Thelma Ethridge of Elberton, GA; maternal grandfather, Ed Kadingo of Laurens, SC; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 16, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur. Family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church for the Andrew Ethridge Memorial Scholarship Fund for Oak Grove students attending Oxford College of Emory. A.S.
