Arthur Kenneth Ferrell, Sr.

Rev. Arthur Kenneth Ferrell, Sr., 85, of Elberton, husband of the late Lydia Marie Coleman Ferrell, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at his residence.

A native of Durham, NC, he was a son of the late Rufus F. Ferrell, Sr. and Ora Ethel Walker Ferrell. He studied at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and retired as a Personnel Manager at Burlington Industries after many years of service. Following retirement, he became an Ordained Baptist minister and served many churches. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and Gideons International.

Surviving are his sons: Arthur Kenneth Ferrell, Jr. of Snellville and Reid Ferrell and his wife Tina of Elberton; brother, Rev. Ernest Ferrell and his wife Ann of Durham, NC; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 4 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Jay Akin and Dwight Morgan officiating. Inurnment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00-3:45p.m. just prior to the service.
