Barbara Haynes Vaughan

Mrs. Barbara Haynes Vaughan, 89, of College Ave. wife of William "Bill" Vaughan passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Vaughan was born November 11, 1926 in Elbert County to the late John Carswell Haynes and Ida Power Haynes. She was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church and worked most of her life in civil service and retired from the CDC.

Survivors include her husband William "Bill" Vaughan of the home; children and their spouses Gloria and Ronnie Blake of Jonesboro, GA, Scherry and Bob Bridwell of Lawrenceville, GA, Tommy and Melissa Vaughan of Braselton, GA and Gina Vaughan of Covington, GA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a infant son George Vaughan; sister Claire H. Strong and brothers Bradley Haynes and William "Bill" Haynes.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 2PM, Friday June 10 in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Purvis and Rev. Danny Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Dewy Rose Baptist Church Cemetery with Bob Strong, Ronnie Blake, Bob Bridwell, Trey Farris, Kenny Blake and Joey Chapman serving as pallbearers. The family will be at the home 68 College Ave., Apt. 6 Elberton and will receive friends from 5-7PM Thursday night at Berry Funeral Home and Friday from 1:30-2PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her honor to Elberton First Baptist Church 132 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635 or to a charity of one's choice.
