Beryl Sherbut Millard

Beryl Sherbut Millard died on July 14, 2017, at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Georgia.

She was born in Cotuit, Massachusetts on March 2, 1918, daughter of the late Ralph Samuel and Annie Elizabeth Sawyer Sherbut. She graduated from Hampstead High School in 1936. She worked for U.S. Rubber and Northeastern Engineering and retired in 1980 after serving 26 years with the U.S. Defense Supply Agency. The later years were spent working for DCASO, Sanders in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Her first husband, Chester Abbott died in 1951 and her second husband, Robert Millard, died in 1996. She is also predeceased by two daughters, Leta Abbott and Gail Houghton; four sisters: Arlene Clark, Mavis Belanger; Janice Wentworth; and Shirley Clark; and two brothers: Ralph Sherbut, Jr. and Raeburn Sherbut.

She leaves her daughter, Phyllis Abbott of Elberton, GA; son-in-law, Richard Houghton of Massachusetts; sister, Jeanne LaBranche of York, Maine; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Elberton on Wednesday, July 19, at 4 o’clock with the Rev. Jim McCullough officiating. A graveside service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Cushing Ave, Nashua, NH on Saturday July 22nd at 1 PM.
