Betty Seymour Harris

Mrs. Betty Seymour Harris, 95, of Bowman, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at Spring Valley Health Care Center in Elberton, GA.

Mrs. Harris was born on August 3, 1927 in Elberton, GA, daughter of the late Clay Seymour and the late Lucille Dickerson Seymour. She was a seamstress having worked at Oxford of Bowman and later working in the bakery at Ingles and Bi-Lo. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens of Bowman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pope Harris.

Survivors include her sons, Jerry Harris (Peggy) of Elberton, GA, Steve Harris (Linda) of Bowman, Ronnie Harris of Augusta, GA, Donald Harris (Sharon) and Keith Harris both of Bowman, GA; daughter, Vicki Bryant (Joe) of Royston, GA; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Harris was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held at Rehoboth Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2022, with Rev. John Todd, Mr. David Maxwell and Mr. Mark Decker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rehoboth Baptist Church from 1:30 p.m. until funeral hour. At other times, the family will be at their respective homes.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Rehoboth Baptist Church.
