Mrs. Betty Wilma Sammons Taylor, 91, of Ruckersville Road, Elberton, wife of the late Esta Lee Taylor, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Brown Health & Rehab in Royston. Mrs. Taylor was born in Vidalia, Georgia on June 17, 1923, to the late Arthur and Zina Dickens Sammons. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton, a homemaker, and a insurance saleslady having worked for American Family Life. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters: Marlene Taylor Floyd and her husband Wayne of Canon and Elaine Taylor Daniels and her husband Mitchell of Alford, Florida; sister, Flo Davis of Vidalia; grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer and Keith King, Joshua and Bethany Smith, Tiffany and Billy Ballard, Eric Lloyd and April Williams Smith, and William Dalton Smith; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, April 14, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Purvis officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the residence on Ruckersville Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Monday evening and from 1:00-1:45p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. Flowers are optional; contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or to the American Alzheimer's Association.
