Billy Dickerson, 60, of 3579 Bowman Highway, Bowman, GA husband of Elaine Fowler Dickerson, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011, at his home. Mr. Dickerson was born in Elbert County, June 16, 1950, son of Sara Jo Skelton Berryman and the late Paul P. Dickerson, and step-son of the late Frances Alewine Dickerson. He was owner/operator of Dickerson Trucking Company, he was a member of the Price Chapel Church of God, he was a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, was a Church Clerk for 5 years, and he served as a minister of music for 39 years. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 42 years, Elaine Fowler Dickerson of the home; daughter, Mischelle Dickerson of Bowman; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jenny Dickerson of Bowman; his mother Sara Jo Skelton Berryman of Canon, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa and Bobby Finley of Canon, GA; and Tami and Mark Padilla of Greer, South Carolina; and five grandchildren. Mr. Dickerson is preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Dickerson. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Sunday, April 17, at 2PM at the Price Chapel Church of God with Reverends Johnny Stowe, Stacy Lynch, Michael Marcengill, and Phil Campbell officiating. Private family burial will follow in the Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Bowman, GA. The family is at the residence, 3579 Bowman Highway, Bowman, where they will receive friends. Pallbearers will include Dennis Fowler, Randy Saxon, Ben Fowler, Jimmy Fortson, Bobby Finley, and Mark Padilla. Honorary pallbearers will include Jimmy Barker, Mike Rutherford, Pee Wee Sims, Marvin Denney, Mike Ward, Terry Mills, Justin Colvard, Joe White, Marty Bagwell, Marshall Williams, Ronald Seymour, Russell Fain, Ed Brown and TJ & Friends. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request donations be made in his honor to the T.J. & Friends Foundation, 1675 Deep Creek Road, Dewy Rose, Georgia 30634. Condolences may be sent online to the family at www.berryfh.com. Berry Funeral Home of Elberton is respectfully in charge of funeral arrangements for Mr. Billy Dickerson.
