Billy Wayne Oglesby

Mr. Billy ‘Wayne’ Oglesby, 72, of Cook Street, Elberton, husband of Mary ‘Helen’ Burdette Oglesby, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Oglesby was born in Elberton on March 4, 1947, son of the late Joe and Lucille Helen Moon Oglesby. He was a crate builder having retired from Royston LLC and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; daughters: Diane Oglesby, Jennifer Oglesby, and Gina Oglesby, all of Elberton; and siblings: Jean Smith, W.L. “Boots” Oglesby, and Jerry Oglesby, all of Elberton; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:30-2:30p.m. on Saturday, November 2. Graveside services will follow at 3 o’clock in Elmhurst Cemetery with Mr. Tommy Darracott officiating.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church Ramp Ministry, 132 Heard Street, Elberton, GA 30635.
