Bobby S. Duncan

Colonel (Ret) Bobby S. Duncan passed away at his home Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was a devoted husband to his wife Mary Llnell (Chambers) Duncan for almost 60 years.

Born in Hart County, Georgia July 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Jack and Ruby (Seagers) Duncan of Toccoa, Georgia. After graduating from high school, he worked in the Toccoa area and enlisted in the Georgia Army National Guard. In 1962, Col. Duncan graduated from the Georgia Military Institute, Officers Candidate School Class #1 where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He later returned as the Commander. He was a graduate of Brenau College. He served our Nation and State Faithfully and Honorably for 35 years serving as the Training Officer for the 1-214th Field Artillery, Commander of the 75th Engineering Detachment, Commander of the Flash Training Site Support Detachment of the Georgia Army National Guard. He was the second person to serve as the Facility Manager of the Georgia Army National Guard Training Center at Fort Stewart, and a 40-year member of the Chatham Artillery.

Survivors include his son Jeffrey Duncan, Sr. (Darlene), grandchildren, Jeffrey (Montien)Duncan, Jenifer (Jake) Collis, Allene Veazey, Cody (Jennifer) Veazey, great grandchildren, Tinsley, Kaylee and J.C. Collis, Alex Miller, Kayla (Justin) Brown, great great grandchildren, Madi Miller, Kaystin and Reagan Brown and Aubree Veazey; sisters, Pat (Dan) Golden of Texas and Glenda Haught of Illinois as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. A special thanks to nieces Angela Pate and Vickie Sell.

The family will receive friends at Moores Funeral Home Monday, March 29th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. with the services to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
