Bonnie Lou Cheek Brown, 82, of 151 Winterberry Lane, Athens, GA formerly of Elberton in the Nickville Community, widow of the late James T. Brown passed away Saturday June 4, 2011 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Born in Toccoa, GA December 22, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Jim Cheek and Ollie Whiten Cheek. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, a homemaker, and retired from Delmar Inc. Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Lisa Brown of Athens, GA, and Leon and Julia Brown of Rockhill, SC, a sister Edna Graham of Crawford, GA, grandchildren Austin Taylor Brown, Jodie Lockhart, and Malydie Montgomery, and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 11AM at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Thrift, Rev. Connie Ivester, and Rev. Roger Aiken officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7-9PM at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Wayne Brown, Danny Brown, Dennis Brown, Donnie Parham, Randy Parham, Buddy Segars, Harold Powell, and Merle Powell. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her honor to Antioch Baptist Church 2479 Antioch Church Road, Dewy Rose, GA 30634 or to the Alzheimers Association 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346. Berry Funeral Home is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Bonnie Lou Cheek Brown.
