Mrs. Catherine Moon Haynes, 81, of Clairmont Avenue, Elberton, wife of 48 years to the late Alton Randall Haynes, Sr., entered into rest on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Haynes was born in Elberton on May 30, 1937, daughter of the late Clyde Findley “Jack” Moon, Sr. and Willene Thomason Moon. She worked at Elberton Manufacturing Company for over 50 years having retired as a supervisor and later retired from Elbert County Senior Center after eight years of service. She was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church and was always a “happy camper” when traveling with her dear friends.

She is survived by her four children: Randall Haynes and Margaret Brady, Pete and Debby Haynes, Pat and Dennis Haston, and Debbie and Joe Grimes; and siblings: Clyde, Jr. and Brenda Moon, Rosie M. and Charles Boswell, and Juanita M. and Doug Johnson. “Granny” leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jason Haynes, T.J. Haynes, Petrea Adams, Brandon Haynes, Victor Haynes, Christopher Haston, Tiffany Grimes, and Andrea Smith; nine great-grandchildren: Leland Haynes, Rachel Adams, Will Adams, Brayden Haynes, Layla Haynes, Austin Mack, Chase Smith, Cadence Beck, and Cydnee Beck; and one great-great-grandchild, Logan Smith. She was a beloved aunt of: Diane B. Drennan, Barry Moon, Kim Moon, Tammy B. Gillard, Jeffrey Boswell, and Teresa J. Hanson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Pauline M. and Joel Brown.

The family wishes to thank the following ladies for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Haynes: Lisa Worley, Sandra Adams, Becky Smith, Jackie Rhodes, and Patty Morrison.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 14, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with grandsons and great-grandsons honored as pallbearers.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Friday evening.
