Cathy Hendricks Smith

Mrs. Mary Catherine “Cathy” Hendricks Smith, 71, of Wesley Chapel Road, Lexington, wife of the late Ronald Dale Smith, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at her sister’s residence in Elberton.

Mrs. Smith was born in Madison County on December 29, 1945, daughter of the late James Randolph Hendricks and Fannie Ruth Smith Hendricks. She was an animal lover, excellent mother, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her sons: Timothy S. Smith of Savannah and Michael C. Smith of Lexington; siblings: James Thomas Hendricks of Houston, TX and Shirlee Hendricks of Elberton; brother-in-law, Robert L. Smith of Lake of the Ozarks, MS; sister-in-law, Cheryl S. Wedmore of Overgaard, AZ; grandchildren: Heather Rogers of Elberton, Benjamin Carter of Milford, CT, and Torie Smith of Savannah; great-grandchildren: Brylee and Colton Rogers of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Rachel Harrison.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 31, at 7 o’clock at the Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-6:45p.m. on Friday, prior to the service.

Graveside and inurnment services will be held on Friday, April 21, at 2 o’clock in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. April 21 is Ron and Cathy’s wedding anniversary.
