Charles "Charlie" Brown, Jr.

Mr. Charles "Charlie" Brown, Jr. 85, of N. Broad St. Bowman, GA passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Brown was born March 4, 1937 in Hartwell, GA to William Dial Brown and Hattie Mae Dutton Brown. He was a jack of all trades, He retired from the textile industry as a weaver and security guard, and the poultry industry as a security guard. After retirement he worked as a carpenter, pulpwooder and bought and sold scrap and antiques.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-laws: Daniel and Lynn Brown of Elberton, GA, Danny Dale and Betty Brown of Vanna, GA, daughters and son-in-law: Teresa Ann and Todd Burrows of Bowman, GA, Donna Gail Chambers of Elberton, GA, sister: Betty Burton of Honea Path, SC, brother: Larry Brown of Canon, GA; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Hilda Warnell Carter Brown, daughter: Janet Lynn Jones and siblings: Hazel Brown, Tom Brown, Lucille Wilhite, Fred Brown, Amos Brown, Bruce Brown, Felton Shirley, Pauline Jordan, Eunice Dutton, Tommy Brown and Roy Brown.

Graveside funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 1PM, Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Cokesbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Rabun Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6PM to 8PM Wednesday night at Berry Funeral Home.
