Mr. Charles Eugene Bishop, 88, of West Tate Street, Elberton, GA, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018.

Mr. Bishop was born in Lawrence County, TN on May 6, 1930, to William Clark Bishop and Dora Eugene Birdyshaw Bishop. He was a retired truck driver for McLane Southeast.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shirley Rae Hammonds Bishop; sons: Robert Bishop of Lawrenceburg, TN, Danny Bishop of AL, and Clark Bishop of Lawrenceburg, TN; daughters: Sharon Allen of Athens, AL and Tina Roberts of Lawrenceburg, TN; step-son, Jeffrey Palmer of Nicholls, GA; sister, Vergilla "Cootsie" Osbourne of Lawrenceburg, TN; thirteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one step-grandchild; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers: James Bishop, Herschel Bishop, Marlin Bishop and a step-child.

Graveside memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, September 29, in Forest Hills Memorial Park with family and friends officiating.
