Chris Wayne Alewine, 38, of 746 Center of the World Road, Canon, Georgia, died suddenly Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Alewine was born in Elbert County, December 3, 1973, to Barry Wayne Alewine and Cathy Chatham Alewine. He was 1992 graduate of Hart County High School, a brick mason, and of the Baptist faith. Chris was a U.S. Marines Veteran. Left to cherish his memories are his parents of Canon; sister and brother-in-law, Lindsay and Keith Adams of Canon; nephews and niece, Tyler, Kody, and Abbey Adams, all of Canon; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was welcomed to Heaven by his grandparents, Morris and Lucille Bailey Chatham and Denver and Annie Ruth Alewine. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 2PM Friday, April 27, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Mr. Fred Greenway, his aunt, Mrs. Diane Wilson, and his first cousin, Mrs. Lara Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in Nancy Hart Memorial with his cousins, Brian Adams, Wes Adams, Shelia Adams, Kira Swygert, Brandi Forrester, and Tanner Moore serving as pallbearers. The Alewine family is at the home of Wayne and Cathy Alewine, 746 Center of the World Road, Canon, Georgia and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2PM Friday prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, may be donations to the Chris Alewine Fund at First Citizens Bank of Hartwell, 86 West Franklin Street, Hartwell, Georgia 30643, 706-376-2211, and condolences may be sent to the family at www.berryfh.com.
