Christine Hutchison Vickery

Mrs. Christine Hutchison Vickery, 83, of Ruckersville Road, Elberton, wife of 53 years to Paul Durrell Vickery, Jr., passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Pruitt Health at Spring Valley.

Mrs, Vickery was born in Abbeville, SC on November 18, 1937, daughter of the late Barney Bryan “BB” Hutchison and Mary Elizabeth Nelson Hutchison. She retired from Elbert Memorial Hospital in 1998 after 38 years of service as an x-ray technician and was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. She and Paul were avid campers and Chris enjoyed being “Grandmama” and “Meme” to her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Greg and Jennifer Vickery and Tina and Chad Sizemore, all of Elberton; grandchildren: Ashley and Jason Nash, Justin and Hannah Brown, Sydney Vickery, Caroline Sizemore, and Braedon Sizemore; and great-grandchildren: Kinley, Aiden, and Elijah.

In addition and her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Rachel Hutchison Burt and Archie Bryan Hutchison.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, January 13, at 11 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Adams and Rev. Tim Savelle officiating. Private interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 12.
