Clarence Eugene Wright, Jr.

Clarence Eugene Wright Jr, 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2023. Preceding him in death are his parents Clarence Eugene Wright Sr. and Vera Mae Ledford Wright, also a sister Dorothy Wright Grimes.


He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Ann Nell Johnson Wright; daughters: Connie Wright Covington (Daryl) of Eatonton and Jennifer Wright Wallace (Jimmy) of Bowman, GA; grandchildren: Jesse Covington and Alanna Covington Davis (Jeff) of Eatonton; great-grandchildren: Lyla Davis and Dakota Davis of Eatonton, also 2 sisters: Myrtle Thomas of Zebulon, GA and Louise Moss of Lexington, SC, Brother-in-law Henry L. Johnson of Commerce. These survivors along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.


As an adult he lived mostly in three communities of GA: Roswell/Alpharetta, Elberton and Eatonton.


Clarence served in the National Guard and was drafted into the army during the Korean War. He was a firefighter, Mason, Shriner, Jaycee, Civil Defense, and a deacon at his church.


His favorite hobbies and talents included making music singing, cooking, yard sales, auctions, gardening, woodworking, being with family and of course napping.


Known as CW to many, daddy and papa to a few, he was a caring and giving Christian man who will be missed deeply.


Family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to favorite charity, church, or St. Mary’s Hospice in Athens, GA.


Visitation will be at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 10 am to 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.
