Coy David Attaway

Mr. Coy David Attaway, 88, of Gordon Street, Elberton, GA, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023.

Mr. Attaway was born October 14, 1934, in Elberton, GA to Jessie Attaway and Nancy Clyde Mabry Attaway. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of the VFW, a lifetime member of the Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25 and worked many years as the dining room attendant for Bojangles.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Attaway McDonald and her husband Michael of Hartwell, GA; son, Kevin Russell Attaway of Elberton, GA; and four grandchildren: Janica McDonald, Michael McDonald, Maleah McDonald, and Cameron Attaway.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all of his siblings: Grace Hill, Mildred Hart, James Attaway, Harold Attaway, and Pete Attaway.

Funeral services to celebrate Coy's life will be held 2PM, Sunday, May 21, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Jerry McClain, Ray Turner, Brady Hammock, Hueston Mills, Rodney Blount, and Zachary Carter serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM Sunday May 21 just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
