Dan Hunt

Mr. Danny Augusta “Dan” Hunt, Sr., 70, of Hartwell Highway, Elberton, husband of 49 years to Jean Davis Hunt, finished his course in faith on Monday, June 11, 2018, at his residence.

Mr. Hunt was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on July 16, 1947, son of the late William Riley Hunt, Sr. and Rose Marie Vaughn Hunt. He was a veteran having served as a U.S. Marine. He was of the Baptist faith and a watch maker and repairman by trade. “Granddaddy” enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting antiques.

In addition to his wife, Jean, he is survived by his children: Lisa Hunt, Danny A. “Pete” Hunt, Jr., and Tony Hunt, all of Elberton; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one great-grandchild on the way.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, William R. “Billy” Hunt, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 14, at 4:30p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Lynn Kellum and Richard Fife officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Wednesday evening.
