Dan Wilbur Dye, 71, of 1619 Calhoun Falls Hwy. Elberton husband of Linda Hulme Dye died Monday October 18, 2010 at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Born in Elbert County he was a son of the late Roy Wilbur Dye and Rebecca Jones Dye. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elberton, he was a certified meat cutter for Eaves Packaging Company for 18 years, he helped his family at Hulme's Tool Shop, and was a National Guardsmen. Survivors include his wife of the home Linda Hulme Dye, sons and daughters-in-law Derek B. and Shari Dye of Elberton, GA, and Steven Scott and Wendy Dye of Watkinsville, GA, a sister-in-law Josephine T. Dye of Evans, GA, brother-in-law Warren Hulme of Elberton, GA, his mother-in-law Louise Brooks Hulme, nieces and nephews Chris and Brandi Dye of Statesboro, GA, and James Hulme of Elberton, GA, grandchildren Justin Dye and Amelia Dye of Watkinsville, GA, Emily Dye and Suzanna Dye of Elberton, GA. He was preceded in death by a brother Allen J. Dye. Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 20, at 3PM at the First Baptist Church of Elberton with Rev. Ken Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family will be at the home 1619 Calhoun Falls and will receive friends from 1-3PM just prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church of Elberton. Pallbearers will include Mike Dye, Kent Dye, Chris Dye, Justin Dye, Charlie Mills, and Jarrell Jones. The family has requested please in lieu of flowers to make memorials in his honor to the First Baptist Church ROC 132 Heard St. Elberton, GA 30635 or to the Arthritis Foundation P.O. Box 7669 Atlanta, GA 30357-0669. Berry Funeral Home is respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Dan Wilbur Dye.
