Dee Isom Swords

Mrs. Delores Elizabeth “Dee” Isom Swords, 75, of Washington Highway, Elberton, wife of Tookie Swords, entered into rest on Sunday, October 23, 2016, in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Swords was born in Hart County on February 4, 1941, daughter of the late J.P. and Hallie Cleveland Isom. She was a Customer Service Representative having worked at Seaboard Farms and a former beautician having worked from home and from her shop on S. Oliver Street in Elberton. She was a member of Forest Hills Assembly of God and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.

In addition to her husband Tookie, to whom she was married for 55 years, 9 months, and 29 days, she leaves behind her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Judi Swords of Byron, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Rina and Bob Thomas of Elberton; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Carl Isom and Larry Isom.

The memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 25, at 7 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Ann Reynolds officiating.

The family is at the home and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:30p.m. until service time on Tuesday evening.

The family respectfully asks everyone attending the service to please dress casually.
