Donald "Smitty" Gale Smith

Mr. Donald Gale "Smitty" Smith, 86, of Sanders Circle, Hartwell, GA passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital.

Mr. Smith was born May 2, 1934 in New Milton, W.VA to Kermit A. Smith and Frankie Fisher Smith. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by a son: Myles Smith of Jefferson, GA, daughters: Joann Brand of Canal Fulton, OH, Joyce Jenkins of Lacoma, NC, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Milbren "Millie" Boyce Smith.

Memorial services to celebrate Smitty's life will be held at a later date.
