Mrs. Doris Scarborough Johnson, 80, of Cardinal Drive, Elberton, wife of 60 years to the late H. Neil Johnson, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Johnson was born in Elbert County on August 12, 1933, to the late Ora and Pearl Slay Scarborough and was the step-daughter of Mildred Dickerson Floyd Scarborough. She was retired from the Meat Department at Bilo in Elberton and attended Elberton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Angela Herndon and her husband Allen and Sharon Evans, all of Elberton; grandchildren, Heather Burnette and her husband Jonathan, Jared Evans and his wife Amy, and Kayla Black and her husband Josh; great-granddaughters, Cadence and Liberty Burnette; siblings and their spouses, Helen and Billy Ray Brown of Elberton, Fan Johnson of Elberton, Bobbie and John Dobson of Gaffney, SC, Thomas and Melanie Scarborough of Atlanta, and Jimmy and Kay Scarborough of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, February 17, at 4:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Bryan and Ann Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family is at the residence on Cardinal Drive and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 2:30-4:00p.m. on Monday.
