Dorothy Sosby Allen

Mrs. Dorothy Sosby Allen, 92, of Mill Rd., Royston, GA wife of the late George T. Allen passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Grandview Nursing Home in Athens, GA.

Mrs. Allen was born October 29, 1924 in Carnesville, GA to Robert Alexander Sosby and Mary Annies Ivester Sosby. She was a from the carpet textile industry.

Survivors include daughter: Mary Wynne Stroup of Royston, GA; step-daughter Bette Harris of Fayetteville, NC; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sons: Kenneth Ray Allen and David Michael Allen; and brothers: Hoyt Sosby, Robert Sosby and Henry Green Sosby.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held 4PM, Saturday, April 29, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7-9PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home.
