Earnest Lee "Jack" Rucker

Mr. Earnest Lee “Jack” Rucker, 90, of Whites Chapel Road, Elberton, husband of the late Sallie Gibbs Rucker, passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Rucker was born in Dewy Rose on March 10, 1931, son of the late Dillard Rucker and Leola Rucker, and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Keystone Granite Memorials for over 30 years and also worked for the United States Postal Service. “Jack” was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, family engagements, and visiting with his friends at McDonalds.

Survivors include six daughters: Linda Diane (Darrell) Hamm, Gloria (Donald Davis) Rucker, Ernestine Rucker, Telisa Rucker, Shelia L. Rucker, and Susan Rucker, all of Elberton; special friend, Mary Frances Johnson; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by three sons: Vincent Rucker, Stanley Rucker, and Harry Lee Rucker.

Memorial services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, July 2, at 1 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home.
