Edgar Jackson Andrews, 87, of 1448 Lexington Hwy. Elberton husband of Kathryn Smith Andrews died Wednesday September 1, 2010 at his home. Born in Oglethorpe County he was a son of the late Jonathan Andrews and Mattie Belle Grimes Andrews. He was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the European Theater and was a former owner / operator of Andrews & Smith Body Shop. Survivors include his wife of the home Kathryn Smith Andrews, sons and daughters-in-law Dean and Jackie Andrews of Comer, GA and Don and Connie Andrews of Elberton, GA, sisters Laura Grimes, and Clara Driver both of Elberton, GA five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a close nephew Dennis Tiller, and a special friend Bessie Wilson. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 2, at 4PM at the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Jack McVeigh officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 3-4PM just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. Grandsons and Fred Smith will serve as pallbearers. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in his honor to Falling Creek Baptist Church or to TJ & Friends. Berry Funeral Home respectfully in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr. Edgar Jackson Andrews.
