Mrs. Elaine Blackmon McNair, 63, of Carey Street, Elberton, wife of Dewey O. McNair, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Florida. Mrs. McNair was born in Elbert County on September 6, 1950, to the late Milton and Myrtle Hewell Blackmon. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was a retired secretary from the granite industry. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dewey O. McNair of the home; sons, Timothy W. McNair of Iva, SC, Frank B. Cobb of Carlton, Dewey Ray McNair of Iva, SC, Robert E. Cobb, Jr. of Elberton, Ronny M. McNair of Elberton, and Donny W. McNair of Elberton; sisters, Shirley Anderson of Elberton and Martha King of Carlton; brother Norman Blackmon; grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Kevin Brown, Crystal Cobb, Shay Cobb, Bri Cobb, Natalin McNair; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Logan, and MaKenzie Brown; and number nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Regina Jefferson, Bill Blackmon, Ed Blackmon, Jerry Blackmon, and Danny Blackmon. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, January 4, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. The family is at the residence on Carey Street in Elberton. The family respectfully requests flowers be omitted; those desiring may make contributions in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
