Mr. Elbert Wesley Smith, 59, of Dove Drake Road, Royston, husband of Jane Bryant Smith, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born in Franklin County on October 30, 1954, to the late Albert Walter and Julia Scoggins Smith. He was a stone cutter at Baston Monuments and was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jane Bryant Smith of the home; sons: Shane Smith of Elberton and Chris Smith and his wife Melissa of Royston; siblings: Sue Scarborough of Elberton, Lynn Rayon of Norwood, Timothy Smith of Elberton, and Ronnie Smith of Elberton; three grandchildren: Kelsey Smith, Levi Smith, and Josie Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sister, Sandra Cheryl Smith; grandson, Andrew Smith and a brother Jimmy Lee Smith. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 1:00p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Elberton with Elder Josiah Breneman officiating.
