Mrs. Emma Drake Brown, 83, of Brewers Bridge Road, Elberton, wife of the late Richard Howard Brown, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born on April 15, 1930, in Elbert County to the late Joe Lump and Lou Emma Wilson Drake. She was a homemaker and a member of Vineyards Creek Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Janice Tasi of Jackson, Noah Milford Brown of Hiwassee, Ricky Joe Brown of Elberton, Tina Carol Bruce of Royston and Richard Wallace Bruce of Elberton; siblings, Bob Drake of Dewy Rose, Betty Bailey of Dewy Rose, Bordie "Ed" Drake of Charlotte, NC, and Sandra Pless of Elberton; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Alice Floyd. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, December 6, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park with Jim Ed Brown, Josh Brown, Zach Hayes, Jason Tasi, Matt King and William Dean serving as pallbearers. The family is at the residence on Brewers Bridge Road and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday evening. Flowers are optional and those desiring may make contributions in Mrs. Brown's memory to the charity of one's choice.
