Glenn David Lovinggood

Mr. Glenn ‘David’ Lovinggood, affectionately known as "Love", 72, of Petersburg Road, Elberton, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, January 3, 2022, at his residence.

David was born in Elberton on August 24, 1949, son of the late James Lester Lovinggood and Corine Dobson Lovinggood. He was a 1967 graduate of Elbert County High School and served his country in the Army National Guard. David worked all of his life in the granite industry, and retired as a granite salesman. He attended Woodlawn United Methodist Church and was a member of Philomathea Masonic Lodge #25. David was an avid Elvis Presley and UGA Bulldog fan, and enjoyed entertaining others by telling stories and making them laugh. His greatest accomplishment, however, was his family, and he took great pride in being “PaPa” to his grandbabies.

Survivors include his children: Kip Lovinggood of Celebration, FL, Kyle Lovinggood of Hull, and Keri Oakley and her husband Kyle of Elberton; sister, Renae Vickery and her husband Jack of Elberton; grandchildren: Corine, Reece, Rhett, and Rylie; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Lovinggood.

A time of visitation to celebrate David’s life will be held on Thursday, January 6, from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Berry Funeral Home. At other hours, the family may be contacted at the residence of Kyle and Keri Oakley, 1819 Greenbriar Court, Elberton.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
