Glenn Julian Dobson

Mr. Glenn Julian Dobson, 89, of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Mr. Dobson was born in Elbert County on November 26, 1927, son of the late James Pinkley Dobson and Dovie Sue Childs Dobson. He was an assistant Vice President having worked for Pike Electric and a former employee of the City of Elberton. He was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and helping others.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Rachel O’Neal Dobson; siblings and their spouses: Johnny and Bobbie Jean Dobson of Gaffney, SC, Julia and Kermit Webb of Jupiter, FL, and J.P. Dobson of Tignall; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Corine Lovinggood, Peggy Truitt, Agnes Mitchell, and Gertrude Smith.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Sunday, February 5, at 2 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 12:00-1:45p.m. on Sunday afternoon prior to the service.
