Mr. Glenn William Dixon, 86, of Highland Avenue, Elberton, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at his residence. He was twice married, first to the late Martha Turner Dixon and second to the late Flora Rice Dixon. Mr. Dixon was born in Madison County on January 24, 1929, to the late John H. and Drucie Mae Lunsford Dixon. He was of the Baptist faith and retired after 40 years of service in the granite industry. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Dennis and Susan Dixon and Danny and Connie Dixon, all of Elberton; four grandchildren and their spouses: Ashley and Michelle Dixon of Colorado Springs, CO, Casey and Shannon Dixon of Clayton, NC, Jason and Megan Dixon of Elberton, and Carrie and Brian Smith of Minot, ND; two great-grandchildren: Greyson Dixon and Madelyn Dixon; brothers: John Wesley Dixon, Wilburn Dixon, Frank Dixon, Ralph Dixon, Gene DIxon, and Doris Dixon; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Joe Thomas Dixon, Jeanette Coile, Bessie Ruth Simmons, Virginia Mae Dixon, Geneva Martin, and L.E. Coile. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, March 17, at 4:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Casey Dixon officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 3:00p.m. until the service hour.
