Guy Roger Alabanese

Mr. Guy ‘Roger’ Albanese, 84, of Fairfax Circle, Elberton, husband of 52 years to Alice Ashworth Albanese, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Albanese was born in Elberton on August 23, 1936, son of the late Louis Albanese and Bertha Eugenia Thornton Peghiny Albanese. He was a 1954 graduate of Elberton High School and a retired machinist having worked at Reliance in Athens. Roger served his country faithfully in the US Coast Guard and enjoyed yard work and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Ashworth Albanese; two sons: Roger Douglas Albanese and his wife Joy of Colbert and Greg Albanese and his wife Mandi of Jefferson; one brother, James Peghiny of Boston, MA; two grandchildren: Herrin Albanese and Callun Albanese.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Peghiny.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, July 29, at 2 o’clock at the graveside in Elmhurst Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
