Heyward Lynn Brock

Heyward Lynn Brock, 95, of Bowman, Georgia, died peacefully Monday night, August 22, 2022.

A native of Hart County, Georgia, he was born June 30, 1927, the oldest son of Robert Loyd Brock and Beatrice Moore Brock.

He was married for 67 years to Elizabeth Almond Brock, until she went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2017.

He is survived by son, Danny Glenn Brock (Alice) of Marietta, GA; daughter, Donna Brock Stone (David) of Toccoa, GA; former daughter-in-law, Janie Cawthon Brock of Marietta, GA; grandchildren John Michael Brock (Mandy) of Milton, GA and Jennifer Brock Elliot (Dustin) of Philadelphia, PA; and step-grandchildren, Chad Jason Holland and Jeffrey Lane Holland (Marci) of Marietta, GA. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Emerson Elizabeth Brock, Colton Gabriel Brock, Oliver Jacob Elliott, Evelyn Rose Elliott and June Eden Elliott; and step-great grandchildren, McCartney Lane Holland, Alyssa Grace Holland and Sydney Claire Holland.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, and his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Christopher Brock; sisters, Ouida Haynie and Mary Evelyn Smith; and brothers, James Boyce Brock and Roger C. Brock.

Heyward was a faithful member of Bowman Baptist Church for over 70 years where he served in various ways including as a deacon. Heyward was a Navy veteran of World War II, enlisting when he was only 17 years old.

Visitation will be at Bowman Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, followed by funeral services there at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bowman, GA.
