Ima Jean Raines

Mrs. Ima Jean Wilder Raines, 84, of Nickville Road, Dewy Rose, wife of 46 years to the late Lorton Ducworth Raines, entered into rest on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Raines was born in Elbert County on May 18, 1934, daughter of the late Clarence Leonard Wilder and Ruby Jane Anderson Wilder. She was a homemaker and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. “Nana”, as she was known to her family, enjoyed the mountains and putting together puzzles.

Survivors include her daughters: Martha Cromer, Susan Webb, Annette Lovin, Pam Chandler, and Cathy Dennis; siblings: Betty Looney, Melethea Fleming, Virginia Richey, Madgalene Harris, Juanita Scruton, Rebecca Vickery, David Wilder, and Julian Wilder; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Eddie Williams and sister, Stella Wilson.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, April 14, at 2 o’clock at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Adams and Eric Lovin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is at the residence of Pam and Raymond Chandler, 1660 Cromer Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Saturday evening.
