Jack Thomas Shugart

Mr. Jack Thomas Shugart, 84, of Russell Pointe Dr. Elberton, GA formerly of Marietta, GA passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Shugart was born November 19, 1933 in Calhoun, GA to Dewey Shugart and Mary Adams Shugart. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, he worked for Lance, Inc. for 42 years and was a Police Officer for Cobb County. After retirement Jack enjoyed rabbit hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Nora Chappell Shugart; sons and daughters-in-law: Terry and Donna Shugart of Hartwell, GA, Mitch and Kellie Shugart of Alpharetta, GA, Blake and Lorinda Shugart of Dallas, GA; sister: Verlyn Parks of Marietta, GA; grandchildren: Stephen and Katie Shugart.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings: Mitchell Shugart, Charles Shugart and Frankie Shugart.

Mr. Shugart was cremated and private memorial services will be held later.

The family will receive friends from 5-7PM Friday night February 9 at Berry Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in his memory to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2340 Prince Ave. Athens, GA 30606.
