Jackie Delano Parham, 76, of Spring Valley Health Care Center, formerly of Hartwell Highway, husband of Peggy Joyce Ashley Parham, passed away Monday morning, September 26, 2011, at Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mr. Parham was born in Elbert County, October 12, 1934, son of the late Clarence Chappelle Parham, Sr. and Willie David Borders Parham. He was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church, a retired stone cutter, former News Reporter for the Anderson Independent, and a former employee of Hicks Funeral Home. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Peggy Joyce Ashley Parham; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Bobby Almond, Lisa J. and Adrian Floyd, and Michelle and Danny Crawford, all of Elberton; sister, Jane P. McKinney of Elberton; five grandchildren, Paul Almond, Tabitha Adams, Brandon Floyd, Adrisa Walker, and Drew Cochran; and six great-grandchildren, Kyler Almond, Anastasia Almond, Tristian Almond, Alyria Walker, Brayson Walker, and Caiden Floyd. He is preceded in death by siblings, Edward Parham, Clarence Parham, Jr., and Fay Ann P. Fortson. Graveside memorial services celebrating his life will be held at 3PM Thursday, September 29, in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Brandon Floyd officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:45PM Thursday, prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home. Flowers are optional, and memorials may be made in his honor to the charity of one's choice.
