Jacqueline Cole

Jacqueline Ann Doughty Cole, 76, of 136 Forest Ave. Elberton, GA and Monson, ME, wife of David L. Cole, passed away Thursday April 28, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens, GA. Born in Bangor, ME on November 16, 1934, she the daughter of the late George L. Doughty Sr. and Marion Brown Doughty. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elberton, GA. Prior to her retirement, she was the Unit Manager of Personal Care at Artman Lutheran Home in Ambler, PA, and then the Director of Nurses at Front Royal Family Practice in Front Royal, VA. She served on the Board of Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation, and was a member of the Iris Garden Club and the Elberton Historical Preservation Commission. Left to cherish her memories are her husband David L. Cole, sons David L. Cole Jr. of Baltimore, MD and John Doughty Cole of Charlotte, NC, daughter Karen Elizabeth Cole Kallis of Atlanta, GA, brothers George L. Doughty Jr. of Bangor, ME, James F. Doughty of Prospect Harbor, ME and Bruce R. Doughty of Windham, ME, and eight grandchildren. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 2PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Phillip Harkey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The family has requested please in lieu of flowers to make memorials in her honor to the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation, 4 Medical Dr., Elberton, GA 30635 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Forest Ave., Elberton, GA 30635.
