James Edward Alexander

Mr. James Edward Alexander, 80, of Old Farm Drive, Elberton, husband of 30 years to Beatrice Cleveland Alexander, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. Alexander was born in Hart County on September 20, 1940, son of the late William Henry Alexander and Bessie Maxwell Alexander. He was a machine operator having retired from Johnson & Johnson after 38 years of service, and also worked as a Police Officer for Canon Police Department and as a Bus Driver for Franklin County Schools.

In addition to this wife, Beatrice, he is survived by his children: Tamala Alexander of Hartwell, James Edward Alexander and Monica of Royston, Ricky Alexander and Nacy of Lawton, OK, and Bessie Alexander of Commerce; step-children: Anthony Wall and Marilyn Phelps and Charles, all of Elberton; sister, Louise Satawhite of Royston; seventeen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, April 23, at 1 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lincoln Heights Cemetery.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00p.m. on Thursday, April 22.

Masks are requested.
