Janice Elizabeth Gunter Boles

Mrs. Janice Elizabeth Gunter Boles, 84, of Oak Drive, Elberton, wife of 67 years to Billy Thomas Boles, Sr., passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Boles was born in Elbert County on October 4, 1929, to the late Thomas and Ruby Elizabeth Fleming Gunter. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Billy Thomas Boles, Sr.; children, Dianne Boles Steedly of Marietta, Judy Boles Vaughn and her husband Bobby of Elberton, and Billy Thomas Boles, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Acworth; sister, Marjorie Bettis of Elberton; grandchildren, Chris Steedly and his wife Brooke, Brendi Neitzey, Lee Vaughn and his wife Hope, Lindsay Johnson and her husband Clay, and Drew Boles; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Boles; son-in-law, Hampton Broadus Steedly, Jr.; and siblings, Howard "Zeke" Gunter, Leon Gunter, Hubert Gunter, and Katherine "Tottie" Brookshire. Memorial services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 2:00p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Mize officiating. Inurnment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. The family is at the residence on Oak Drive and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:00-2:00p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
