Janna Lee Vogt Dixon

Mrs. Janna Lee Vogt Dixon, 64, of Elberton, wife of the late Stephen Allen Dixon, Sr., entered into rest on Friday, July 3, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospice House in Watkinsville, Georgia following a sudden illness surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Dixon was born in Sharon, Connecticut on January 31, 1951, to June Orser Vogt and the late James Gordon "Jim" Vogt. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Elberton and the Health Director at Magnolia Estates Retirement Center. The love she showed for the residents at Magnolia was second to none, and will never be forgotten. Janna’s beautiful smile and vibrant personality allowed her to light up every room in which she entered. She loved to travel to the North Carolina Mountains and spend time with her family. Left to cherish her memories are her children: Stephen Allen Dixon, Jr. and his wife Amy of Johns Creek, Georgia and Fina Michelle Dixon of Playa Del Rey, California; granddaughter, Lillian Mae Dixon of Johns Creek, Georgia; mother, June Orser Vogt of The Villages, Florida; siblings: Jackie V. Bishop of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jeff Vogt of Grayson, Georgia, and Jenny V. Sweat of The Villages, Florida; mother-in-law, Mildred Jones Dixon of Elberton; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her father and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Jerry Vogt and James Vogt. Memorial services to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Janna Lee Vogt Dixon will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015, at 11:00a.m. at Magnolia Estates and at 2:00p.m. in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Elberton. The Rev. Gary Purvis will officiate both services. The family will visit friends in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Elberton immediately following the second service. Those desiring may make contributions in memory of Mrs. Dixon to First Baptist Church of Elberton, 132 Heard Street, Elberton, Georgia 30635.
