Jean Louise Young Webb

Mrs. Jean Louise Young Webb, age 97, of Dove Drake Road, Royston, GA formerly of Beavercreek, OH, wife of 64 years to the late Lt. Col (USAF ret.) Herbert Godfrey Webb, entered into rest on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Webb was born in Kirksville, MO on September 4, 1924, daughter of the late Malcolm Edward Young and Helen Roberta Carscadin Young. She earned a bachelor’s degree in both music and art from Kirksville State Teachers College, presently known as Truman State University, in Kirksville, MO. A very brilliant lady, Jean worked as a lexicographer for the United States Air Force Foreign Technology Division. Moving to Royston, GA nearly 13 years ago to live with her daughter and son-law, she joined Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Danielsville, GA and loved her church family dearly.

She is survived locally by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha Jean and William Kidd of Royston, GA. Additionally, she leaves behind her other children: Margaret Ann Emery and Karl E. Webb, II, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Jane Alfano; and sister, Jane Tremaine.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 2 o’clock at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Danielsville, GA with the Rev. Kyung Kim officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the SONIC Mission Team honored as pallbearers.

The family will greet friends from 1:00-1:45p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at the church.
