Jeanette Wilder Davis, 78, of 1703 Hartwell Highway, Elberton, widow of the late George Clark Davis Sr. passed away Wednesday July 27, 2011. Born in Greenwood, SC October 28, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Thomas L. Wilder and Mattie B. Brackett Wilder. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, and was retired from Elberton MFG. Left to cherish her memories include her children Christine Gierke of Elberton, GA, Janice and Henry Hammond of Bowman, GA, Clark and Peggy Davis Jr. of Elberton, GA, and Gene and Jackie Davis of Athens, GA, sisters Guyrine Bordua of Royston, GA, Pat Barnes of Elberton, GA, Vera Farrow of Anderson, SC, Shirley McCannon of Elberton, GA, Pauline Hatton of Goshen, IN, and Maxine Burdette of Dewy Rose, GA, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by sisters Elizabeth Partain, Ruth Morrison, and Lucille Partain, and a brother Charlie Wilder. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday July 30, at 1PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 6-8PM Friday night at Berry Funeral Home. Pallbearers will include Adam Davis, Joshua Davis, Christopher Gierke, Eric Davis, Jordan Davis, Edward Hammond, and Levi Blackmon. Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her honor to MCG-ALS Clinic 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912-5563. Berry Funeral Home is respectfully in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Jeanette Wilder Davis.
