Jerry Wayne Dutton

Mr. Jerry Wayne Dutton, 76, of Lavonia, husband of 52 years to Wanda Sue Salyers Dutton, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

Mr. Dutton was born in Hart County on June 7, 1944, son of the late Benton and Eunice Brown Dutton. Jerry was a top polisher having retired from the granite industry and attended River of Life Church in Hartwell. He loved his children, grandchildren, dog, and was happiest when spending time in the garden.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Wanda, include his daughters: Lee Dutton and Gerald Smith of Lavonia and Denise and David Fowler of Bowman; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, October 12, at 3 o’clock at River of Live Church in Hartwell with the Rev. Ken Buffington officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 7:00-9:00p.m. on Sunday, October 11, and at River of Life Church from 2:00-2:45p.m. on Monday, October 12. The family is at the residence, 96 Adams Street in Lavonia.

Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.

Pallbearers will include Jerry Fowler, Timothy Fowler, David Fowler, Jonathan Crider, Johnny Salyers, and Gerald Smith. Honorary pallbearers will include Kile Crider, Collin Welch, Malaki Salyers, Hayden Salyers, Michael Salyers, and Jason Salyers.
