Jimmy Lee Jones

Mr. Jimmy Lee Jones, 79, of Broad River Scenic Drive, Tignall, husband of 40 years to Lynn Dixon Jones, finished his course on faith on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Jones was born in Jasper on December 13, 1938, son of the late Walter Herschel Jones and Pauline Eaton Jones. He was a welder and worked in the granite industry for most of his life, retiring as owner/operator of Hope Monument Company. A U.S. Army Veteran, Jimmy was a member of the VFW Post 5456 in Elberton and American Legion Post 194 in Lincolnton. Jimmy was of the Baptist faith and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: David and Cindi Jones, Ronald and Joye Jones, and Jamie and Jason Keblish; step-son, Shannon Johnson; grandchildren: Kyle and Amanda Jones, Jimmy and Briannon Jones, Jessica Jones, Charlee Jones Keblish, Jake Keblish, and Lina Keblish; step-grandchildren: Nikki Johnson and Amanda Johnson; great-grandchildren: Benjamin Jones, Judah Jones, and Walker Hyde on the way; siblings: Bud Jones, Larry Jones, Raymond Jones, and Ruth Saxon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Betty Daniel, Jake, Paul, Steve, and Charlie Jones.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, April 7, at 3 o’clock in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Tim Adams and Travis Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Kyle Jones, Jimmy Jones, Jake Keblish, Larry Jones, Raymond Jones, Daniel Hyde, and Bud Jones.

The family is at the residence and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home from 1:00-2:45p.m. on Saturday prior to the service.

To appropriately honor Jimmy’s life, the family request anyone attending services to please dress casual.
